The Hula Hoop Challenge – Hooping is fun and good

The Hula Hoop Challenge- Hula hooping is fun and good

For a few years I have had a fitness hoop at home. Every time I start hula hooping fanatically again. But stop just as quickly. Now that I’m temporarily unable to run and the Boot Camp workouts are stopping, I’ve decided to try the hoopla pick it up again and participate in a hula hoop challenge starting January 2nd.

Every time I start again

I’m really hopeless with sports. I always start and finish with enthusiasm. Only bootcamp I have been doing for over a year now and I enjoy it a lot. Unfortunately this stops at the end of the year. Of course I climb too, but it’s so woven into my life, I just do it. I really want to run, but am down for a while due to a painful knee and so then that hula hoops. I start fanatically every time, but after a few weeks I put the hoop aside again.

Why go hula hooping

But what are the reasons why you should go hula hooping?? Actually quite easy! First of all, hooping makes you fit and happy! It is fun to do and things that are fun to do are done more often and more easily. And the second advantage is that you can do it just about anywhere. At home in the living room or garden, at the gym but also in the park.

The positive effects of hula hooping on the body are:

  • Stronger abdominal, leg, and gluteal muscles
  • A slim, narrow waist
  • A good corestability
  • Improving fitness
  • Supple shoulders, neck, back and hips
  • Improves motor skills and coordination
  • Promotes digestion
  • Promotes circulation (source: robinhoop.nl)

Work out at home

I enjoy working out from home and also have a number of workouts ready to start again in the new year. Why I want to start hooping again? Actually because the above appeals to me a lot. You don’t need anything besides the hoop. I put on something easy, put on some nice music and start hooping.
