Disney Inspired; Halloween Pumpkin and lots of inspiration
A week and a half ago a van came driving by. A parcel delivery man stepped out and brought us a big box. A big surprise was when we opened the box and found a huge pumpkin.

Halloween Pumpkin
Yeah, and then you’re sitting there with a big pumpkin, a carving set and a load of inspirational pictures. Little man had already decided he wanted to turn this into a scary Halloween pumpkin. No sooner said than done.
Or so I thought.
The pumpkin also came with a fun carving kit. This one came in handy because out of all the examples, little man chose Jack Skellington as the most creepy plate. This was the face mom had to get on the pumpkin.
However, we started with the cap. To hollow out a pumpkin you have to carve a kind of lid. That was still fine.
Just put the knife through and hop, done.
Then we started the hollowing out. I thought I’d do it with a spoon. Just scoop and go.
How disappointing! This was clearly not a job for my toddler or for this rheumatic mom. That was really hard. The heart of the pumpkin was stringy meat mixed with seeds, so you had to work hard to get them out.
Blood, sweat and tears later I threw a big bowl of flesh into the bin and the cutting could begin.
That last one went smoothly. Especially with the included serrated knife we were able to cut out the shapes with ease. I drew the example of Jack Skellington and cut out the shape like this.
A little tinkering, a candle and we were ready for Halloween!
